Rolex serial number & Production year chart
The serial number on a Rolex watch can be found in one of two locations, depending on when the watch was made:
Before 2005:
Engraved between the lugs (the "horns" that attach the bracelet) at the 6 o'clock position.
2005 and later:
Engraved on the inner bezel (the "rehaut"), a ring that runs around the inside of the watch's bezel, perpendicular to the face.
To find the serial number:
1. Before 2005:
You'll need to remove the bracelet to access the engraving between the lugs.
2. 2005 and later:
The serial number is typically visible through the crystal, near the 6 o'clock position on the inner bezel.
